What are the symptoms of cerebral palsy?

Cerebral palsy in children is the movement disorder acquired in the early stages of childhood. It is accompanied by problems in hearing, poor vision, poor balancing and speech delay. The movement disorder may include poor muscle tone, stiff muscles, deformed body shape mainly hands and feet and involuntary actions. The muscle tone is the automatic ability of muscles to tighten and relax. Often, the lack of coordination in muscles is observed in children suffering from cerebral palsy.

The onset of cerebral palsy disorder in children is due to neurological disorders and brain injury. The damage to the brain may be caused due to infections, a low supply of oxygen to the developing tissues of the brain, bleeding in the brain which prevents the supply of blood to a particular tissue causing its death or a blow to the head after birth results in neurological disorder.
